GM Of Nowata Ford Speaks Out

The investigation into a Green Country car dealership heats up.  More people are coming forward claiming to be victims of fraud.  News On 6 anchor Latoya Silmon reports, meanwhile, a man police have identified as an owner of the dealership is speaking out.

Thomas Plummer says he's getting a raw deal.  Plummer says he's not the owner.  Instead, he claims he was the general manager of Nowata Ford and he quit as soon as he discovered the problems there.

Business is a bust at Nowata Ford.  The lot's empty and its doors are locked after more than a dozen customers claim the company conned them.

"I just want them to know that it was never my intention or the majority of our employees intention to do business in any way other than an impeccable manner and with character," said Thomas Plummer.

But, Sherry Dickson says Plummer and others at the dealership have given her the run around.  She got a Ford Focus three months ago and still has a temporary tag.  Then, there are the customers who police say are stuck with two car notes because the dealership didn't pay off trade-ins.

Right now we've got several allegations that there's been some wrong doing," said Nowata Police Chief Richard Miller.

 But, Thomas says people are pointing the finger at the wrong guy.

"I just want it stated for the record that I am not the owner of that organization.  That is Edward Taylor," said Thomas Plummer.

Plummer says he served as general manager and his boss didn't provide the money to pay off the trade-ins.

A few days ago, Ford Credit got wind of it and wiped the lot clean for its collateral.   Plummer also says there were risky deals that never made it to his desk.

"Unfortunately, you're only as good as your employees," said Thomas Plummer.

Police are on the case, too.  And, they say Plummer is definitely a person they want to talk to.  The Nowata PD says they also want to talk to Edward Taylor. 

Like them, The News On 6 has been unable to reach him.  Meanwhile, police say there are now 16 unsatisfied customers.
