Investigation Begins In Child's Death

The Tulsa Medical Examiner's office is investigating the death of 2-year-old boy. Police say the mother put the toddler to bed Saturday night, but the little boy never woke up Sunday morning.

The mother told police she checked on him around noon to find he was dead and she called for help.

Police say there's no obvious sign of trauma, but the investigation is ongoing. There were other children in the home at the time.

"Other than for the boy having been dead for several hours nothing else appears to be out of the ordinary," said TPD Sgt. Gary Neece.

Police say no charges will be brought against the mother at this time.
