TULSA, OK - October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. More than 2,200 Oklahoma women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year. More than 500 of them will die.
Doctors say early diagnosis is the key because breast cancer is treatable in its early stages.
The Oklahoma State Department of Health has a program called Take Charge! of Your Health. It offers free breast and cervical cancer screenings for low-income women between 40 and 64 years old.
You can learn more about the Take Charge! program by calling 888-669-5934.
