Mayors Discuss International Economics

Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor met with the mayor of Tulsa's sister city in Germany, Celle, on Monday.

TULSA, OK - Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor met with the mayor of Tulsa's sister city in Germany, Celle, on Monday. Both mayors are looking for ways their economies could work together.

Several businesses have plants in both cities, including Mobil, Halliburton and Lufthansa.

Dr. Martin Biermann also spent part of his trip with the German American Society, addressing many of the commonalities between his city and Tulsa.

"It's interesting to really bring home the fact that today our economies are very globally interdependent and having the sister city relationship with cities like Celle, that have those commonalities are very helpful for us," said Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor.

"The main thing is to invite you to Celle. It's a touristic, very interesting town. And I hope, lot of your inhabitants, and people meet in the next time," said Dr. Martin Biermann, Mayor of Celle.

Celle is one of eight of Tulsa's sister cities around the world.
