Voter Registration Undergoes Reality Check

TULSA, OK -- With two days left to register for the election, registration drives continue full speed ahead.  But, the state says a national study has it wrong about Oklahoma's voter registration policy.

State election officials are still fighting off accusations from a national study that says Oklahoma ignores federal voter registration laws.

The U.S. Public Interest Research Group says the state purges voters from its system too early and violates federal law.  But, the state claims that's not true and says the last time it purged voters was in February of 2007, and then, only those who had not voted since 2003.

Those not registered have until midnight Friday to register to vote in the presidential election.

There are several ways to get that done.  You can go to either your county election board office or any tag agency to fill out the paperwork.

You can also download the form online and mail it in, just make sure it's postmarked by October 10th.
