SAPULPA, OK -- A large marijuana growing operation is now out of business. The Creek County Sheriff's Office seized a large crop of cultivated marijuana plants south of West 51st Street South on South 377th West Avenue this week.
Creek County Sheriff's Office Chief Investigator Michael O'Keefe says the marijuana was determined to be at a mature state of growth and was very high quality.
The cultivated area was approximately one-acre in size and appeared to have been cleared out of a wooded area on the property.
O'Keefe says deputies discovered tools and other devices used for growing the marijuana.
It took deputies using four trucks to transport the marijuana from the field to a storage facility in Sapulpa.
The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office, Sand Springs Police, and Tulsa County District Attorney's Office assisted in the seizure of the pot plants.
The case remains under investigation and O'Keefe says arrests are anticipated.
