OKLAHOMA CITY, OK -- More Oklahoma National Guard members from the 45th Infantry are back in the Sooner State.
The more than 300 soldiers are the final group of those deployed last year to Iraq.
The soldiers were honored at a welcome home ceremony in Oklahoma City. They say the homecoming support they've received was overwhelming.
"It just gave you a warm feeling inside, because, you know, I am old enough to remember Vietnam and what happened in those days and to know that there is support and the people really cared about what happened. So, that's really important," said Major James Gill with the Oklahoma National Guard.
The soldiers are from the Oklahoma City and Ponca City areas and are part of more than 2,600 National Guard members deployed last year.
