Firefighter Charged With Assault

BROKEN ARROW, OK -- A Broken Arrow Fire Marshal is free on bond after turning himself in. 

Dale Brooks is charged in Wagoner County District Court with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. 

Authorities say Brooks is accused of pulling a knife on his 22-year old son during an argument.  Brooks says he was fearful for his life. 

Brooks has been Broken Arrow's fire marshal since 1997. 

Brooks is on paid leave pending an investigation.
