UNDATED -- They're spreading color across Oklahoma. Thanks to Color Oklahoma, thousands of wildflower seeds were planted at the Broken Arrow Expressway and I-44 interchange on Monday.
Color Oklahoma provided matching grants for up to $500 to plant the seeds along state highways. A Tulsa couple donated the first $500 for a total of $1,000 worth of wildflowers.
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation planted the seeds, and will continue to care for them. If all goes as planned, the flowers will be blooming next spring and summer.
