TULSA, OK -- Some Tulsa students really stepped up to help some neighbors in need.   Monte Cassino's eighth grade class decided to make Giles Coats for Kids this year's Christmas Project.

On Thursday, News On 6 chief meteorologist Travis Meyer and a couple of guys from Yale Cleaners headed to the school to pick up their load.  During the month of December, students collected gently used coats from family, friends and the community.

"With the recent cold snap, I think it's all made us a little aware of how great a winter coat is and we realize that some kids don't have those. And, it felt like just a good thing to give to the community," said student Max Sanders.

The class's original goal was 150 coats, but they more than tripled that.   The group of about 60 collected 464 coats.
