TULSA, OK -- Many generous Oklahomans are taking part in Giles Coats for Kids. Some students at OSU-Tulsa have been collecting coats as part of a homecoming project and it was a big success.
The group collected 80 coats, thanks in part to a Wal-Mart in Broken Arrow that gave them $1,000 to buy coats.
"We went to Wal-Mart and got $1,000. We told them about our association and your coat drive and they were more than willing to help us out," said OSU-Tulsa student Ali Paracha.
News On 6 Chief Meteorologist Travis Meyer was there to thank the students as they donated the coats.
Any new or gently used coat can be dropped off at any Yale Cleaners. They'll clean the coat and give it to Catholic Charities who will see that the coats go to those in need.
