WAGONER COUNTY, OK -- A possible domestic dispute Wednesday afternoon leaves two people dead and another fighting for his life in rural northwest Wagoner County.

Authorities are still piecing together exactly what happened, but they believe domestic problems lead to a deadly Christmas Eve.

Wagoner County Sheriff's deputies found a grisly scene in the front yard of a home near 257th East Avenue and 14th Street.

Deputies found a man shot in the face at around 2:30 p.m.  He was taken by medical helicopter to Tulsa hospital.  There is no word on his condition.

The body of a woman was found nearby.

Over an hour later, deputies and Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers found the body of second man in a nearby field.  He had been shot, but authorities were reluctant to say if his wounds were self-inflicted.

"This is all preliminary investigation over to Wagoner County Sheriff's Office, and they'll be more to come, more to follow," said OHP Lt. George Brown.

Neighbors say the neighborhood is tight-knit, but the shooting victims were the newest additions to it.

"They were the newest people to move into Pecan Ridge yes. They've been out here about a year or so," said Robert Lovett.

And regardless of exactly what happened to them, Lovett says no one in the area is used to shootings on their road, especially on Christmas Eve.

"We've always felt like this was a safe, secluded area and a good place to live, and it is.  Yes, this time of the year it is a little bit unnerving," said Robert Lovett.

Authorities are not yet releasing any names.
