Traffic Stop Leads Police To A Stolen Vehicle Ring

Five people have been arrested in connection with a stolen car ring and a meth lab bust overnight in Tulsa.

TULSA, OK -- Five people have been arrested in connection with a stolen car ring and a meth lab bust overnight. 

The first of the five arrests occurred Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. when a Tulsa Police officer stopped a vehicle in the 700 block of South Yale.  The pickup truck had been reported stolen.

Arrested was 35-year old Michael Hicks. 

That arrest led officers to a motel at 34th and Sheridan.  Upon further investigation, police recovered at least 6 stolen vehicles.  Police officers also recovered two stolen trailers and found components to at least 2 meth labs. 

Four other suspects were also arrested.  Their names have not yet been released. 

Officers also recovered a large number of stolen or bogus checks with supporting bogus
birth certificates and identification.
