BAPD Adds 6 New Officers

BROKEN ARROW, OK -- Broken Arrow's Police Department graduated its first six officers on Monday night. Before the new academy in Broken Arrow, recruits had to travel all the way to Ada to train.

"Now we get to have them here. We get to keep them home. We get to stay in check. They get to stay around their families throughout the duration of their academy," said Broken Arrow Police Captain Heath Arning.

The new officers spent 19-weeks training at the academy.
