Storme Jones

Emmy Award-winning journalist, Storme Jones, can be seen weekdays anchoring News 9 at Noon, as well as reporting throughout the day on stories impacting Oklahomans. He joined Griffin Media in May of 2019.

A native of Yukon, Oklahoma, Storme graduated from the University of Oklahoma’s Gaylord College with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and minors in political science and international studies.

He has traveled the country covering Oklahomans from the state’s National Guard on the ground at a presidential inauguration, to immigration surges along the U.S./Mexico border, and the Oklahoma standard in action following Hurricane Michael in 2018 and Hurricane Ida in 2021. Storme’s on-the-ground coverage of civil unrest in downtown Oklahoma City in 2020 helped propel News 9 to a Heartland Emmy Award.

Storme is married to his wife, Abigail. They enjoy spending time at his family farm, weekends at the lake, and attending OU football games. They have an Aussiedoodle named Henry.

From covering the statehouse, to wheat harvests and severe weather, Storme believes in the strength and resilience of Oklahomans and is proud to tell their stories daily.
