TULSA, OK -- Tulsa police get mostly high marks in a new citizen survey.

Overall, Tulsans believe their police department is well trained and well educated.

More than half of those surveyed were satisfied with the Tulsa Police Department's response time to calls.

Seventy-eight percent say they feel safe outside during the day, but only 38 percent feel safe using River Parks and about 45 percent feel safe downtown.

The survey found residents feel the least safe in North Tulsa and West Tulsa.

Participants say preventing gang violence should top the list of police priorities.
