Two Swim Beaches On Lake Tenkiller Reopen, One Remains Closed
LAKE TENKILLER, Oklahoma - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is reopening swim beaches at Snake Creek and Cookson Bend after testing confirmed E. coli levels returned to an acceptable range for swimming.
The swim beach at Chicken Creek remains closed as testing showed levels of E. coli remained too high.
The Corps originally closed the three beaches Monday, while boating ramps and campgrounds remained open to the public.
Park rangers should have Snake Creek and Cookson Bend reopened by Thursday evening.
