Hundreds of Tulsa’s homeless are getting new backpacks filled with items to make winter more bearable.
The Mental Health Association of Oklahoma distributed 250 backpacks to Tulsans experiencing homelessness Tuesday afternoon. They’re filled with socks, gloves, a scarf, hand warmers, and a hat.
Bank of America and Merrill Lynch partnered with the Mental Health Association to purchase the 250 backpacks and life-saving items. Their employees stuffed the backpacks then helped distribute them at the Boston Avenue United Methodist Church.
