The annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade featured some Oklahomans. From a marching band to a youth choir, a number of Oklahomans were apart of the annual event in New York City on Thursday. The Pride of Oklahoma stormed the Big Apple with their first trip to the annual parade.
Also participating in this year’s parade on the Cornucopia float was the Cherokee Nation Youth Choir. They shared several songs from their award-winning album released last month.
Macy's hand-selected Rawnie Gordon's grandkids to be in the parade as well. Carlton, Faith and Grace Gordon's dad is headed to Iraq. The Navy nominated families to be part of the parade, before their parents were deployed.
In addition, two high school band members from Okay in Muskogee County marched with the "Great American Band." Jacey Blaylock and Matthew McCrery were two out of 235 band members who kicked off the annual parade.
