(Boise, Idaho-AP) -- PJ Daniels ran for 307 yards and Georgia Tech salvaged their seventh straight winning season by routing Tulsa 52-to-10 in the Humanitarian Bowl.

Daniels also topped his career high by 67 yards and set a Tech bowl rushing record. He ran for four touchdowns to help the Yellow Jackets avoid their first losing season since finishing 5-and-6 in 1996.

Tulsa closed the regular season on a five-game winning streak for the school's first bowl berth since 1991. But Saturday's appearance was hardly memorable.

The Golden Hurricane didn't score a touchdown until the fourth quarter and finished with 144 total yards. They were sacked seven times and held to minus-56 yards rushing.

After winning just one game each of the past two seasons, Tulsa players were quite open about the thrill of playing in their first bowl game.

First-year coach Steve Kragthorpe did not want Saturday's Humanitarian Bowl loss to impact his players' enthusiasm. Kragthorpe says it doesn't diminish what the team accomplished this year.

The Golden Hurricane fell to 4-8 in bowl appearances.

Tulsa lost to Georgia Tech 52-to-10. Tulsa lost six of seven fumbles and allowed six sacks in the game.

Starting quarterback James Kilian finished with minus-37 yards on 11 carries and was sacked four times. Kilian completed 11 of 21 passes for 97 yards.
