(Tulsa-AP) -- Jeremy Davis and Jason Wiltshire have been at each other's throats since elementary school. But football -- the sport that kept them apart -- is now bringing them together.

The two were among the 31 freshman and walk-on players who worked out yesterday at the University of Tulsa's Skelly Stadium.

Davis and Wiltshire have been opposing each other on the gridiron for years -- including in last season's high school Class 6A Championship game. Wiltshire's Jenks Trojans beat Davis' Union Redskins 14-7.

When they found out they both had signed at Tulsa, they decided to become friends.

New coach Keith Burns says Davis and Wiltshire come from high profile winning teams, which he believes gives his new program and coaching staff credibility.
