OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Oklahoma County prosecutors have charged a Nichols Hills attorney with child abuse.

Robert Eliot Sisson is accused of beating his 14-year-old son at least 40 times with a riding crop October sixth.

Sisson surrendered to police on Friday and was released from custody after posting ten-thousand dollars bail.

According to a court affidavit, a counselor at the boy's school called Oklahoma City police after asking him about scratches and bruises on his face and arms.

The boy told police his father hit him with a riding crop and an open hand because he lied about having trouble with his grades at school.

Sisson faces a December 23rd preliminary hearing.
