The Metropolitan Library System is reminding Oklahomans of several online resources amid its closure during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Oklahoma County cardholders have access to eBooks, audiobooks, movies, study guides and even homework resources.
"Let's say you want to learn a foreign language, we have a thing called mango languages, it's an app and it has over a hundred languages that you can learn, including pirate if you want to speak pirate someday," said Marketing and Communications Director Kim Terry.
From learning how to snap pictures to the simple task of using computers, several resources for the old and the young are available at metrolibrary.org.
"Let's say you want to learn another skill, we have an app called linda.com and its fabulous," said Terry.
The metropolitan library system wants to help Oklahomans stay sane, entertained and educated.
"We also have a service called hoopla and canopy where you can download free movies, tv shows," Terry said. Kids in school age, they are still trying to study, we have lots of homework help activities. We have a program called learning express, and it has study guides, tests, different kind of tests for all kids of different curriculum."
While the children study, parents can handle their business.
"I was actually out on our value line program that we have just to see stock and where they are in the market today and what kind of debt they have," Terry said. "We have some great podcasts."
All you need is an Oklahoma County address to sign up for a library card online and the resources listed above are all free.
