The Big Ten and Pac-12, two of the Power Five conferences announce they will not be playing fall sports, including football, this year.
The Big Ten and Pac-12 conferences announced Tuesday that they will postpone all fall sports.
The Big 12 has not made a decision public, but Baylor Athletic Director Mack Rhoades told a Waco radio station this afternoon that he thinks it will be a close vote on whether to play.
The Big Ten hopes to play football in the spring. The Pac-12 went a step further and canceled all fall sports until January 1, 2021 which will impact basketball season for the conference.
The University of Oregon president Michael Schill said, "Ultimately, our decision was guided by science and a deep commitment to the health and welfare of student-athletes."
In a press conference today, Pres Trump urged college football to play saying, “These are young, strong people and we want to see college football happen. So college football, get out there and play, people want to see it.”
