The Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) has an immediate need for plasma from patients who have recovered from COVID-19.
The plasma can be used to treat seriously ill patients. OBI said the need in the area has increased to over 700% in the recent weeks.
The OBI said that a single plasma donation with OBI can provide plasma to up to four COVID-19 patients, in a process that takes about an hour and a half.
OBI said they have seen a decline in plasma donors, due to incentives from other plasma donation centers and so are offering donors a chance to win prizes.
