6 Things To Know (Oct 23): Free Food & Free Face Masks

Here are six things to know before you set your alarm for Friday.

1.OSU ANNOUNCEMENT: Oklahoma State University President Burns Harris is expected to make a special announcement at the school’s Board of Regents meeting. The meeting will be live streamed on OSU’s Facebook page and it starts at 11:15 a.m.

2.COVERING UP HATE: The Parlous Hair and Ink in Sand Springs are offering to cover up any hate, gang or racially-related tattoos for free as part of Stop the Hate in the 918. It’s on a first come, first serve basis.

3.FREE MASKS: Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma will give away free reusable masks at the Tandy Family YMCA from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Each person can receive up to five masks while supplies last.

4.THANKING VETERANS: The Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma and Supportive Services for Veteran Families will host a food giveaway for veterans at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Clarion Inn and Suites near 31st and Memorial.

5.NEW PHONES: Apple’s New iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro go on sale in stores Thursday. Both phones feature new cameras and are faster with 5G.

6.LET’S PLAY BALL: It’s game three of the World Series between the LA Dodgers and the Tampa Bay Rays. The series is currently tied at one game each. First pitch is at 7:08 Thursday night.
