The National Guard, US Police and Washington Metro Police said the US Capitol is secure four hours after protesters stormed the building while the House and Senate met to certify the electoral college vote.

A curfew was put into effect across the District of Columbia starting at 6 p.m. Wednesday after hundreds of violent protesters stormed the capitol while Congress was in session.

One woman was shot at the capitol and has died from her injuries.
