Wagoner Co. Deputies Investigating After 61-Year-Old Found Dead

Wagoner County deputies are investigating after they found a 61-year-old man dead in a parking lot area.

Deputies said they got a call Saturday, Feb. 20 about a possible man down at Coal Creek Landing near the intersection of 275 Road and 110 Road. Officials said bystanders who had been looking at the snow and ice in the area discovered the victim.

Officials said the man, who has been identified as 61-year-old Jeff Derrick from Hulbert, was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials said they found three gunshot wounds on his body and the medical examiner said they believe those wounds to be the cause of death.
