The Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office said it has investigated dozens of cases involving suspected child predators since the beginning of 2020.
In the 15 months that Tulsa County’s Child Predator unit has been in operation, Sheriff Vic Regalado said they’ve investigated 84 crimes involving children. 49 of those cases involve online child predators and 35 involve physical abuse.
Detectives said they’re busier than ever with more children spending more time online.
"I could literally, our unit could literally get one guy every single day because that's how prominent and prevalent online predators are right now, hunting for children,” detective Jason Weis said.
Investigators urge parents to talk honestly and frankly to their kids about online dangers.
