130 Oklahoma businesses have representatives in the nation’s capital this week as part of the State Chamber’s annual DC Fly-In.
The event was canceled last year due to the pandemic. Billed on the Chamber’s website as a premiere event providing “the opportunity to be on the forefront of federal legislation impacting Oklahoma businesses,” the event started Monday and wraps up on Wednesday.
Kristin Peck, Chair of the Chamber’s Board of Directors and a Vice President at Cox Communications, says a recent survey of Oklahoma businesses showed that a primary concern is workforce development. She says the Fly-In provides opportunities for executives to discuss their businesses’ needs with the federal delegation, as well as, share best practices with each other.
The State Chamber has approximately 4,300 members in total.
