Tulsa Police Arrest Man Accused Of Leading Officers On Chase, Crashing In Stolen Vehicle

Tulsa police say a man driving a stolen car led officers on chase early Tuesday morning. It ended with the driver crashing the car.

Police say they pulled the man over for a traffic violation. That's when they found out the vehicle had been stolen.

This happened around 2 a.m. on 51st Street North, east of Peoria.

While police ran the check, they say the man took off with a woman inside the car.

Police say they made it a few blocks before the car lost control, hitting and snapping a light pole.

The car flipped over and the man ran away, but police caught him behind a nearby restaurant.

Police say the woman stayed with the car.

Public Service Company of Oklahoma was called since the light pole was knocked over.

Police say the man driving the car was taken to the hospital. They say he's under arrest for several charges.
