Tulsa Public Schools Approves Request To Raise Budget For Substitute Teachers

Tulsa Public Schools has unanimously approved a request to raise the budget for substitute teachers.

$3 million was initially budgeted to pay for substitutes, but that number has already been passed. Monday's request was for another $650,000.

The district says the increase was needed, in part, because more substitutes are volunteering to fill shifts compared to the previous school year.
