A Rogers County man will serve six life sentences for torturing a three-year-old girl for six straight days, even shocking her with a dog collar set on the highest level.

The judge ordered those sentences to be served back to back.

Investigators said there are more than 600 videos Gustus Pennington recorded, which show him brutally abusing the little girl.

The investigators couldn't help but get emotional while testifying about this case, saying it was the worst one they've ever worked.

The judge said there are certain things worse than death, and what Pennington did to the little girl is one of those things.

Pennington started by spanking the girl with a wooden board, even spanking her 85 times in one day, prosecutors said.

Pennington and the child's mother, Jeannette Wilson, forced the child to go to the bathroom on a cinder block, prosecutors said.

Pennington bought a dog shock collar, put it on the little girl, then set up a camera so they could watch the torture from another room, prosecutors said. The force of the shocks threw her little body against the wall.

Pennington's attorney said Pennington is a changed man from 2020 and his actions were caused by meth.

Prosecutors said this case took a toll on everyone.

"This one hit us, it hit us hard because she is so innocent and so sweet. I've heard (prosecutors) say for three years now that this is their little strawberry shortcake, it is just what she looks like. Just seeing now that she is in a good place, and she is happy, brings as much joy to us as we can possibly get," Kali Strain, Assistant Rogers County DA said.

"He will die in a cage in the penitentiary and I hope he wakes up in hell every day," Sheriff Scott Walton, Rogers County Sheriff's Office said.

The child's mother Jeanette Wilson was also sentenced to life in prison, plus ten years.

Investigators said the lttle girl, who is now six, has been adopted by a new family and is doing very well.
