The Oral Roberts University baseball team is facing a crucial moment in the College World Series as they fight to stay in the competition. Despite the possibility of getting eliminated, the team hasn't given up.
They went back to the field for practice on Monday, keeping it private.
With nine experienced seniors leading the way, who have played important roles all season, ORU is counting on their leadership and determination to keep their championship dreams alive in Omaha.
Head Coach Ryan Folmar talked about the value of experience in tough situations.
"Experience is really important, and we've been through similar situations before. We've faced challenges recently, so our goal is to learn from those experiences and become a stronger team," Folmar explained.
Jake McMurray, one of the players known for his determination, agreed with the coach.
"We know what we're up against. We've been in tough spots before and managed to win. So, we believe we can do it again and win three games in a row," McMurray said.
ORU is focused only on their upcoming game against TCU. They're not thinking about anything else until they finish playing against the Horned Frogs. Every play and moment in this game is important for them.
Coach Folmar assured everyone that the team's spirit won't change on the big stage.
"You'll see the same determination and strength that we've shown all season. We love this game, and we'll give it our all in every inning and out," he said.
Matt Hogan, an outstanding outfielder, summed up the team's mindset simply, saying, "All we want is to play. That's it. Every one of us feels the same—we just want to keep playing and winning."
The elimination game against TCU is happening Tuesday at 1:00 pm. Get ready for an exciting game with intense moments as ORU tries to make their mark in Omaha's baseball history.
