Oklahoma City Police were involved in a pursuit Friday afternoon.

It all started with an attempted traffic stop.

According to police, the pursuit started along westbound 39th Street.

Minutes later -- law enforcement started to try again, but the truck sped away even faster.

At one point -- the truck involved drove against oncoming traffic.

But it all eventually came to a sudden and unexpected but peaceful end.

Police recovered this gun inside the vehicle.

It was eventually towed from off the shoulder of I-40 near Rockwell.

The chase lasted around 40 minutes, ending when it seemed like the suspect's vehicle ran out of gas on interstate 40 eastbound near Rockwell.

Authorities apprehended the driver of the Ford F-150, as well as a female passenger in the vehicle.
