Rogers State University Builds New Parking Lot For Baseball And Softball Fields

Rogers State University now has a brand-new parking lot outside its baseball and softball fields.

RSU's softball team recently won a national championship. However, with more people showing up to the games, the current parking lot wasn't nearly big enough. Fans had to get shuttled from the main campus, which took extra time and resources.

RSU worked with Rogers County to fund a larger parking lot. Rogers County pointed RSU toward a big grant, which came in the form of $100,000. 

RSU's original parking lot could only hold about 100 cars.

The new lot will more than double the size of the original parking lot. 

The school didn't work on this project alone. The county directed the school to a $100,000 grant to pay for the gravel and to level the surface.

The new parking lot will make it easier for fans to get to and leave the fields when they want instead of making a quarter-mile trek to the main campus.
