BIG CABIN, Okla. (AP) _ Speeding tickets and ill will drop around the state's first designated ``speed trap'' community, but the investigation continues into ticket writing in Big Cabin in northeastern Oklahoma.

The Big Cabin Police Department drew the scrutiny of state officials for how police have handled traffic along a three-and-one-quarter-mile stretch of US Highway 69 that runs through town.

Last July the state Department of Public Safety said Big Cabin was the first town to run afoul of the state's 2004 ``speed trap'' law that allows towns to collect no more than 50 percent of their revenues from speeding tickets.

The state continues to investigate the situation and Big Cabin police continue to write speeding tickets on the highway, albeit at a slower pace.

Big Cabin Police Chief David Dubois says his department will be vindicated and that investigators have found that the city was under the 50 percent mark.
