A 77-year-old Tulsa woman is recovering after being attacked by a pit bull.

Lou Foster was going to a neighbor’s mailbox in the 700 Block of North Irvington when she was attacked Monday evening. The dog ripped into Foster's calf, tearing muscles and tissue before letting go and running off.

She'll find out later this week if she'll need surgery. "It was so fast; I didn't realize what was happening."

Lou’s husband Charlie Foster: "I mean the flesh was tore. The leg was ripped open.”

Foster may have to get rabies shots if the dog isn't found. Animal control officers hope to find the dog and keep it for observation.
