OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A task force looking for ways to bring jobs to rural Oklahoma will go on the road next month.

The first stop for the Rural Economic Development and Initiative task force will be Blackwell on October 4th. Later that month, the panel will go to Cushing, Nowata, Miami, Frederick and Elk City.

In November, members will travel to Woodward, Waukomis, Ada, Pauls Valley, Idabel and Poteau.

The task force held its third meeting Monday, hearing from representatives of agriculture and business groups and state agencies.

State Representative Don Armes of Faxon, co-chairman of the group, says the task force is learning a lot about agencies that can help revitalize rural Oklahoma. Armes says the next step is to connect the agencies with folks that need help.
