A 14-year-old mother has been arrested in the child abuse death of her 7-month-old son.

Jaiden Respicio was rushed to OU Children's Hospital Sunday where he was pronounced dead.

Police say doctors told them the internal injuries suffered by Jaiden were consistent with abuse. Investigators questioned the infant's mother, 14-year-old Jennifer Respicio.

"The mother did confess that she caused the injury," said Lt. Brian Wofford with the Del City Police Department.

Jennifer Respicio has been charged with first degree murder. Police say Respicio was not the only one at the home at the time Jaiden sustained his injuries, but she is only one arrested.

"I can't imagine what that mother is going through, she lost her grandbaby and her daughter is charged with first degree murder," says Respicio's neighbor Jaleta Songer.
