Two people died and four were hurt in a crash involving three cars south of Harris Saturday morning. Just after 10:30 a.m. the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) said John Nguyen, 22, was headed north in a Scion on US 259 and crossed over the center line. The OHP said Nguyen hit the rear of one car, causing it to spin in the roadway and then hit another head on, pushing it off the roadway.
Investigators said this happened for an unknown reason. Nguyen died at the scene, along with Jenny Nguyen, 16.
There were three other people in the Scion at the time of the crash, all from Longview, Texas.
Nguyen's passengers were taken by air to a hospital in Texas with head and trunk injuries, but are stable, according to the OHP. Authorities said the driver of the vehicle struck head-on by the Scion and her passengers were also taken to the hospital with injuries. The driver and passenger of the vehicle hit in the rear by the Scion were not hurt, according to the OHP.
OHP reported seatbelts were in use at the time of the crash.
