A group of Good Samaritans jump into action to save a young man from drowning at Lake Thunderbird, Sunday evening.
Emergency crews were called to "Clear Bay" near Lindsay St. and 120th after witnesses say the man was hit by a passing boat. A group of friends then formed a line into the water and began searching.
Police say the victim was swimming in approximately six feet of water about 50 feet from the shoreline. They say the person was swimming out to a boat that was adrift when he went under and did nor resurface.
“The moment something happened…everybody turned the radios off. We all banded together…and went and started searching together,” said Kody Tucker, who helped save the victim.
They were able to pull the man onto a boat and perform CPR. EMSA took him to the hospital in critical condition.
