Midwest City is bracing for the return of an unwelcome visitor.
The city says thousands of Egret birds migrate through the area in April and May. The birds are large and white.
The city says Egrets generate a large amount of waste. That creates problems for homeowners and pets. So Animal Control Supervisor Adrian Sanders says the city uses large pyro technic noisemakers to try to scare the birds away, before they nest.
"You run into a lot of issues with property damage and other issues, especially people who have pets, bringing in diseases," he said.
