A man from Ponca City, Oklahoma, was killed after he crashed his vehicle in Kay County Saturday night.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, it happened just after 9 p.m. on Prentice Road, about 50 feet south of Tower Road in Kay County.
A 1997 Ford Explorer driven by 50-year-old Terry Horinek was southbound on Prentice Road, when it lost control and went into a broad slide. The vehicle then ran off the left side of the roadway, striking a tree and rolling a quarter of a time.
The vehicle then struck another tree and came to rest on its top.
Horinek was pronounced dead at the scene from head, arm, leg, trunk internal and external injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
Troopers say they did smell an odor of alcohol on Horinek. The cause of the collision is listed as "too fast for road condition" in the OHP collision report.
