The Oklahoma softball team capped off the series sweep of the Kansas Jayhawks Sunday with a 6-2 win, their fourth consecutive win overall.
Keilani Ricketts (17-4) had yet another big Sunday for the Sooners, pitching a complete game, giving up two earned runs on nine hits, striking out six in the win. Both earned runs came in the same at-bat, a two run double from Chanin Naudin in the top of the second to take a 2-0 lead.
However, the Sooners would immediately respond, hanging six on the board in the bottom of the second.
With two on and no outs on the board, Erica Sampson drew a walk to load the bases. Two at-bats later, Katie Norris singled through the left side, bringing Callie Parsons home to take cut the lead to one. Javen Henson followed with a double to right center, bringing Georgia Casey and Sampson, while Jessica Vest scored on a throwing error to take a 4-2 advantage.
Two at-bats later, Lindsey Chamberlain homered over the right field wall to make it 6-2 in favor of the Sooners.
Kristin Martinez (5-2) came away with a loss, giving up five earned runs on four hits in her 1.2 innings of service.
The Sooners will be back in action at 7 p.m. Thursday for a three-game series against the Texas Tech Red Raiders at home.
