OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Oklahoma State Cowboys went into Austin to take on the Longhorns and left with their first ever back-to-back wins over Texas and a 6-0 record, but how would John Holcomb grade their effort?
The Cowboys scored 38 points, racked up 420 yards and averaged 6.8 yards per play, but converted on only 2 of their 12 third down attempts. Quarterback Brandon Weeden had a rather down day comparatively, passing for just 218 yards and one touchdown, while Jeremy Smith turned in a career day with 140 yards and two touchdowns on just seven carries.
Things were just as average on defense, as the Longhorns racked up 370 yards on the ground, including 231 yards on the ground. However, OSU came away with five sacks, two interceptions, a forced fumble and 11 quarterback hurries in the win.
Special teams wasn't quite as good for the Cowboys. Justin Gilbert did return a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown, but Fozzie Whittaker came right back and returned one of his own.
