STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- The 2011 college football season has now officially started and the Oklahoma State Cowboys have already had their first major opportunity to talk to the press, holding their annual Media Day.
OSU hasn't played a game yet, but already there are several storylines that have emerged in the early days of the season.
The Cowboys have had an experienced and consistent starter at middle linebacker a season ago, but Orie Lemon is now turning heads with the Dallas Cowboys, leaving a void at a critical spot in the defense. A pair of sophomores, Caleb Lavey and Tyler Johnson, are now competing in practice for the middle linebacker spot.
Oklahoma State unveiled a new set of uniforms for the upcoming season and the future, providing more buzz to an already talked-about program. The players seem to be pleased with the new threads and have had added confidence that comes with looking good.
With the returning starters and the high preseason ranking, expectations are high for a program that has continued to rise in recent history. However, after the high expectations of two seasons ago and a shocking loss to Houston, the Cowboys are more calm heading into the season.
