OKLAHOMA CITY -- Businesses owners and drivers are becoming increasingly frustrated with the road work in downtown Oklahoma City.
Every week, the city sends out a downtown traffic advisory. The list of construction projects is now three pages long. The owner of La Luna restaurant, Cindy Cabrera, said the road work has sent her profits plummeting.
"We are probably 35 percent off since August," said Cabrera. "At the beginning, it wasn't so bad but as time goes people are more frustrated to come down here."
Cabrera said dedicated customers willing to navigate the construction are keeping her in business.
Andrea French oversees the city's downtown construction. She said while the construction may seem confusing, there is a coordinated effort to make people's commutes as easy as possible.
"It does seem like we are tearing everything up at once, but we are planning it out and doing it in phases," French said.
City leaders said downtown construction will last another four years.
