TULSA, Oklahoma -- A 75-year-old Hugo woman was killed in a two-car collision in Pushmataha County Friday evening. Dovie Moreland was a passenger in a car that troopers say failed to yield while exiting a private drive onto State Highway 3 about three miles east of Antlers, Oklahoma.
She died of head and internal injuries while being transported by medical helicopter.
Moreland was riding in a 2009 Chrysler four-door driven by 71-year-old Charlette Decker of Hugo, according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Decker was hospitalized with head and trunk injuries and is expected to survive.
Terry Hamill, 43, of Rattan was driving a 2002 Dodge pickup that struck Decker's car. He was not injured.
Troopers said the cause of the accident was failure to yield from private drive. The report also states Hamill had the odor of alcoholic beverage on his person.
All three were wearing seat belts.
