Warmest day of the year so far is now underway! Highs will approach records this afternoon. The next several days look very quiet and mild.
A cold front moves in tonight, but a much stronger one arrives this weekend. From 80s today, to snow in the state by Friday. This system is still several days away, but data has been very consistent with the cold air on the way. The amount of moisture is still in question.
We are looking for rain to move in on Friday. This will be timed with a very strong cold front. The front will give us north winds 20 to 40 mph and drop temps into the 20s in the panhandle. Best chance for a snow changeover will be limited to the panhandle. Snow could mix in with the rain in northern OK as the system exits on Saturday. Highs will be in the 40s and 50s on Saturday. No travel problems expected!
In OKC it looks like a cold rain, but we will have a decent chance for frost by early Sunday.
Stay tuned, as we continue to analyze the latest data this week.
